Exterior Wood Restoration on the Kona and Kohala Coast

Sun and salt air wear out exterior wood here faster than almost anywhere. Railings, beams, siding, garage doors, shutters and decks all gray out and start to check when the finish is not kept up.

These are bigger jobs. Most run several weeks and some need scaffolding. I plan the sequence so one side of the house is finished before the next is opened up, and the site stays clean while the work is going on.

I use Sikkens systems, including two tone work, and choose the product to match how much sun the wood gets. The goal is a finish you can maintain with a recoat every few years instead of a full strip each time.
